Sort of good news for NZ Big Brother fans

Big Brother in New Zealand

TVNZ are in talks with Big Brother producers to screen the 2006 season of BB on Channel 2. There is no word on when the shows will start, however it is suspected they will again be given a mid-day timeslot. Last year episodes were screened six weeks after they appeared on Australian television.

No Big Brother on TV in NZ yet :-(

Big Brother 2006 has started in Australia but is not being shown on TV here in New Zealand yet. No TV network seems to want to screen it. Here's some emails that I received back from the TV networks:

First email - from TVNZ on 10 April 2006:

Hi there,
No we don't have this programme purchased or in the schedule. Sorry we can not help this time.

Second email - from TV3 on 13 April 2006:

Hi Adam,
Thanks for your feedback. Due to issues regarding rights we are not going to be screening Big Brother.

Third email - from Sky TV on 24 April 2006:

Good Afternoon Adam
Thank you for your email. Unfortunately neither SKY nor Prime have any plans to pick up the rights to the new series of Big Brother.

Fourth email - from TVNZ on 28 April 2006:

Hello there,
We are so pleased you enjoyed the last series of Australian Big Brother.At this moment our programmers are in talks with the Producers of the programme.We hope to let our Big Brother fans know as soon as possible if we will be screening the programme.

Dancing with the stars?

I see a new series of Dancing With The Stars starts on TV One next month. So I wonder what great stars TVNZ will provide us with this year? Let's have a look:

Christine Rankin - The very former CEO of WINZ. Yeah, I remember her, she was very popular wasn't she! Wasn't she fired or something?

Rodney Hide - Of course, everyone's favourite politician. When you think of a star politician you always think of Rodney Hide!

Danyon Loader - Didn't he win a couple of medals at an Olympics 10 years ago? Haven't heard much about him since then.

Lorraine Downes - She was a star when she became Miss Universe about 50 years ago! And didn't she used to be married to a "gay" ex-All Black?

Beatrice Faumuina - A very washed up athelete. She wasn't much of a star at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games was she?

Dancing with the "stars"? Yeah right! One TV programme I will not be wasting my time watching!
