Back then in 1966 it wasn't too popular, but over the last 40 years it has grown to be something huge. What other sci-fi has produced 5 television series and ten movies - with an 11th movie on its way. It has turned into the greatest sci-fi phenomenon of all time, with millions of fans worldwide.

So happy birthday Star Trek. Congratulations on 40 years of great entertainment. Let's hope Star Trek is just as popular in another 40 years.
